Chances are if you grew up in the 90’s you watched and fell in love with at least one or, more likely, a plethera of animated Disney films.

You identified with Ariel and her desire to be part of that world. You pulled a chair right up next to Belle and stared in amazement as the dishes came to life and invited you to ¬†be our guest. You learned to paint with all the colors of the wind just like Pochahontas. You realized you ain’t ever had a friend like Aladdin’s genie, and ultimately realized that just like young Hercules, you too could go the distance.

Did you ever wonder who was behind all those classic tunes?

That would be Mr. Alan Menken.

Menken composed scores for Beauty & The Beast, Aladdin, Hercules, The Little Mermaid, Pochahontas, and many more great films. He has won 8 Oscars for his work and, more importantly, enriched the lives of millions of children (and many of us adults).

This post is a tribute to his genius, and mostly an excuse to post videos of my favorite Disney songs that I listen to on an almost daily basis. Yes, I said daily ūüôā

Enjoy! Let these songs take you to a whole new world ūüėČ
